What's needed is fundamental shift to critical education and holistic, cooperative learning and development (concerned with mind, body, feelings, emotions, cultures, difference, dialogue, access, opportunity, etc etc). The authoritarian, racist discipline/punish ideology is already firmly established, pervasive at every level of society classroom to carceral system, long-rooted in the rah-rah-individualized-killer-versus-the-world worldview. That is the status quo killing us.
